Indonesia Has a Grand $412 Billion Plan to Rebuild the Country
About 60% of the spending will go toward transportation-related infrastructure
Indonesia is drafting ambitious plans in infrastructure projects, the proposal calls fro a record 5,957 trillion rupiah ($412 Billion) in Investment from 2020 to 2024. As much as 40% of total will be funded directly by the government, 25% through state-owned enterprises and the rest through the private sector.
The government plans to build more than 5,000 km of new roads in the next five years. The new roads would comprise 1,500 km of toll roads, 2,509 km of national roads in many parts of the country and build elevated bridges or overpass with a total length of 60 km. During the last 5 years, Indonesia has built new toll road totaling about 1,000 km, regular roads with a total length 3,387 km and 330 elevated bridges.
